Haunted Towers Gems - Luigi's Mansion 2 Guide - IGN (2024)

There are 13 Emeralds to be found in the Haunted Towers, and certain gems can only be obtained in certain missions, though most gems that appear in a certain mission can also be obtained in later missions. The gems listed are in the order they can be obtained, and in the order they appear in the gem collection screen.

Emerald 1 - Tower Lobby (Available in B-1)

As you ascend the stairs in the Tower Lobby you may notice a gem directly below. Run behind the valve on the first floor to find a hidden entrance behind the stairs leading to the gem.

Emerald 2 - Laboratory (Available in B-1)

Use the bubble plants on the right side of the Laboratory to float upwards. While floating around, aim for one of the large tubes near the ground floor. Drop in and you should notice a gem trapped in a cobweb alongside another bubble plant. Grab the gem and then the plant to get back out again.

Emerald 3 - Garden (Available in B-2)

After the ghosts in the Garden have been cleared, use the nearby bucket and fill it with water, then grow the flowers along the garden. Flash the flower near the bottom of the garden to recieve a gem.

EMerald 4 - Botany Lab (Available in B-2)

In the Botany Lab are pipes feeding water to a plant in a tube. Before revealing the invisible pipes, the water will drip down the hole in the pipes. Put a bucket under the water to fill it up, then grow one of the flowers in the back of the room. Flash it to reveal a gem.

Emerald 5 - Seedling Lab (Available in B-2)

After the ghosts in the Seedling Lab are dealt with, give the potato shooter a whirl. You'll notice a mouse scurrying behind the objects with a gem. Shoot out enough flasks and pots for a shot at the mouse, and claim the gem.

Emerald 6 - Tower Lobby > West Garden (Available in B-3)

Now that the water is back, reveal some invisible pipes that seemingly lead down into the ground on the left side of the lobby. Next, activate the water pump. Finally, look for a door mat near the base of the stairs to find an invisible door. Enter the West Garden to find a Venus Fly Trap guarding a chest. The water you turned on will grow a spiky plant capable of bringing the Venus Fly Trap down and getting the gem inside.

Emerald 7 - Hollow Tree (Available in B-3)

Before heading to the Tree Roots, light a ball of web and head left to an alcove, destroy the webs to reveal a bucket. Fill the bucket in the pool and go to the right alcove to water a plant. The Flower will have a gem inside.

Emerald 8 - Old Cemetery (Available in B-3)

This gem is waiting for you on a vine just after arriving in the Cemetery, pluck it up with the Poltergust.

Emerald 9 - Skybridge (Available in B-4)

Head up the stairs in the Tower Lobby to the Skybridge. Replacing the horde of crows will be a row of hostile hanging flowers. Dodge their slams and suck them up. The last flower will reveal an emerald.

Emerald 10 - Rumpus Room (Available in B-4)

By now it may have become apparent that the very creepy doll in the Rumpus Room swivels its head to follow Luigi about the room. What might not be apparent is that by slowly leading the head around in a counter-clockwise manner, the head will unscrew until it pops off, revealing a gem.

Emerald 11 - solarium (available in B-4)

Right after entering the Solarium, notice the empty table near the stairs. reveal a hidden chest on the table and open it to find a new gem.

Emerald 12 - conservatory (Available in B-4)

Use the Bubble Plant in the Conservatory to head to the higher level. Instead of landing on the left side, float to the right side, and shine the Darklight on a patch of wall which will reveal a door. The door leads to no room, but instead another pocket dimension containing a minigame. To navigate the area and collect the coins within the time limit, head counter clockwise along the outer path, then cut through the middle under the stairs, and finally up the inner path to the top of the stairs. The prize will be a new gem.

Emerald 13 - Bathroom (available in B-4)

Pull on the roll of toilet paper near the toilet in the Bathroom to unveil the last gem.
