Airport Chapels Worldwide - The Catholic Travel Guide (2024)

When your travel plans allow, you may want to visit one of these airport chapels….for Mass or just a few moments of quiet prayer. Most of these chapels are open to all faiths, but some have a regularly scheduled Catholic Mass on certain days. And, if you are traveling over a weekend, it can be a great opportunity to attend Mass that you otherwise might miss. In addition, if you have a group traveling with a priest, he may be able to celebrate Mass in the chapel.

Some also have reconciliation….a great opportunity if you just came off a flight where the person ahead of you had his seat so far back he was almost in your lap!

And be sure to check ahead, as Mass schedules tend to change. In some cases, we have listed airports with a chapel, but there is no information available, so you will need to check with that airport.

You may find the chapels really busy on Ash Wednesday.…..many say that more people attend Ash Wednesday services than either Christmas or Easter, and travelers are certainly no exception. And distribution of Ashes has spread to some Protestant denominations as well.
